OMG OMG OMG OMG

OMG OMG OMG OMG

Something I've been waiting for since I was 10:

THE DARK IS RISING THE MOVIE

OMG OMG OMG

Okay, I am done. More when I am coherent. Right now am crazy from teh squee!

ETA: Am reserving judgment on rumors abounding on message boards until more info is known. But with The Ninth Doctor and Al from Deadwood in the cast, it can't be all bad can it?

And also:

Seems to be my day for favorite books made into movies:

HIS DARK MARERIALS 1: THE GOLDEN COMPASS which is also very much squee, as Al from Deadwood is also in this one, as well as Nicole Kidman who I love. So, hopefully, this will be as good as the books as well!

Ooooh! I'd heard about that. Man, I hope the rumor of them making Will American is totally not true! Grrrr at the very idea. AND OMG Al from Deadwood is Merriman??? EEE!

Blargh. From what I'm reading on message boards at IMDB the Stantons will indeed be America. Which is teh succage. But! Christopher Eccleston (AKA The Ninth Doctor and more recently Claude from Heroes) as the Rider and Ian McShane (Al! Deadwood! WHEE!) might make up for that gross oversight.

All in all, I'm reserving judgement until more things are known for certain.

The Ninth Doctor as the Rider? Score! That's so awesome that they're making it into a movie. *grin* Hopefully they'll stay true to the books (...well, as true as they can be with the Stantons being American). :)
